Kohima: Oking Christian School in Kohima marked Parents' Day 2026 on August 21. The event took place at the CBCK premises. Kekhwengulo Lea, Chairman of the School Managing Board, served as the guest speaker. He referenced Ephesians 6:1-3 to remind students to honor their families. He urged them to view their minds as divine gifts and to pursue learning with genuine curiosity.
Lea turned his focus to the parents. He pushed for stronger connections between adults and the children they raise. He argued that kids thrive when parents pay close attention during their formative years. "Such mutual understanding, he noted, can enable parents to care for their children more effectively." Education remains a group effort. It relies on a partnership between teachers, parents, the school, and the local community.
Students filled the program with performances. The lineup included Bible recitation with action, indigenous music, and various solo and group songs. They also showcased traditional attires from different communities. Petekhrienuo Solo of Class 10 performed a special tribute to the parents. Lhiwezou Chuzho opened the day with an invocation. Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, Senior Pastor at CBCK, delivered the benediction to conclude the event.
