YouthNet Seeks Nagaland Startups for Rs 10 Lakh MeitY Funding

Kohima: YouthNet is hunting for tech-driven startups and entrepreneurs in Nagaland for the MeitY GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) 3.0 program. The initiative aims to help local founders turn rough ideas into scalable businesses with up to Rs 10 lakh in financial support.

This program operates under the Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) banner. It is a joint effort by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the MeitY Startup Hub (MSH). They want to boost tech growth in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. The YouthNet Incubation Centre is acting as the sole implementing partner in Nagaland.

Neikepekho Shosahie, the Associate Director of YouthNet, believes this is a massive chance for local talent to gain mentorship and national exposure. "MeitY GENESIS provides a valuable platform for entrepreneurs from emerging regions to validate their ideas, strengthen their business models and develop innovative solutions capable of competing beyond local markets," Shosahie said.

The first two phases already saw several Nagaland startups secure funding, incubation, and expert guidance. The third phase is now open for students and early-stage innovators. Participants get help with refining products and building sustainable business models. Interested applicants have until September 3, 2026, to submit their forms online. Full details are listed on YouthNet's website and social media pages.
