Aizawl: NTPC is building a new archery academy in Mizoram. The project carries an estimated price tag of Rs 13.28 crore. The state-run power company revealed the plan on October 12.

NTPC's Bongaigaon unit, located in Assam's Kokrajhar district, will run the job under its corporate social responsibility program. They signed a formal agreement with the Mizoram State Sports Council to build the site at Lengpui in Mamit district. Construction spans three years.

The facility brings professional coaching, modern gear, and dedicated practice space to the region. It targets young archers from Mizoram and nearby areas. The company stated the academy will focus on "identifying promising young archers, enhancing their technical skills and preparing them for competitions at the district, state and national levels."

The Mizoram State Sports Council will handle daily operations and maintenance. Meanwhile, NTPC Bongaigaon handles the cash and monitors progress through regular check-ins. The partnership aims to push students and rising athletes into professional training circles.
