Kohima: A splinter group known as the NSCN/GPRN Eastern Flank has declared a provisional government. The move follows an Extraordinary Joint Emergency Meeting held July 21 at Mt. Horeb Camp. Chaired by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Hs. Ramsan, the group aims to rescue the Naga political movement from its present predicament.

The assembly named Ikato I Chishi Swu as chairman. Members include Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Hs. Ramsan, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Victor Angami, Lt. Gen. A. Raman, Brig. Detail Dani, and Angyo Jacob Jingseya. Ngaranmi Jagoi, Merry Ramsan, and Rev. Vitovi Yeputho will serve as advisors. An ordained minister will soon administer their oaths of allegiance.

Tensions remain high. The Eastern Flank declared expulsion orders against its leadership null and void. These orders, dated June 24 and July 7, targeted several veterans. The group claims these expulsions were fabricated attempts to silence dissent and facilitate a piecemeal solution with the Government of India. The Eastern Flank maintains that those who yielded to government pressure lack the authority to purge others. They stated the move was aimed at "saving the nation from another surrender."

The group slammed the Competencies submitted to the Government of India by NSCN (IM) leadership. They argue these documents compromise Naga sovereignty by tethering the nation to the Constitution of India. The Eastern Flank claims this violates the party manifesto and the Preamble of the Yehzabo. They further alleged the Government of India betrayed the August 3, 2015, Framework Agreement by issuing a 2019 ultimatum against a separate flag and constitution. Despite this, the group alleges leadership at Hebron continued negotiating compromised terms.

Referring to a November 7, 2024, statement by Th. Muivah, the faction claimed leadership failed to resume armed resistance after political initiatives were rejected. The Eastern Flank asserts the ceasefire agreement no longer exists. They pledged to continue both political and armed resistance to secure a sovereign Naga nation.

Separately, the Union Territory of NSCN/GPRN (I-M) reported the recovery of a black TVS Apache RTR 160. The vehicle bears chassis number MD 637GE51T2AD0680 and engine number HE5AT21A1577. Owners should contact 8837081637 with original documents to claim the bike.
