Kohima: The Niki-led NSCN-K faction welcomed 18 new members on Wednesday. These individuals defected from the NSCN-IM. The Ministry of Information and Publicity announced the intake. The group includes former Executive Steering Committee Member Theja Kire.
The recruits held various roles including kilonser, deputy kilonser, tatar, leacy, razou peyu, khapur, and lieutenant. They hail from the Angami and Ao regions. Defectors include Theja Kire, Roukuodilho Liazietsu, Macho, Neilalie, Sevilie, Zakietoulie, and Khrigtouza. Others are Kedokhotso, Kevikielie, Avibou Kense, Dzesavü, Zepulie Thong, Asou Zumvu, Vizelie Kire, Kenai Kimho, Avizo, Salie Angami, and Imlikumba Kichu.
The organization stated the move follows a commitment to their specific political ideology. They want to boost the Naga sovereignty cause. The faction insisted the shift was not born of spite. "Their decision to join the national movement has no ill intention or resentment against any Naga Political Groups," the statement read. The group remains focused on their stated national goals.
