Aizawl: Mizoram BJP members marched through Aizawl on Wednesday to rally support for the 2028 Assembly elections. The demonstration, dubbed Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy, kicked off at Zarkawt traffic point and finished near Vanapa Hall. Party leaders used the platform to push for stronger democratic institutions.

Bhagwat Karad, the party's Mizoram in-charge, emphasized the Centre's focus on the northeast under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed to new border fencing along the Bangladesh line as a move to stop illegal entry. Karad pledged to open new markets for local ginger farmers and create jobs for the youth. He said, "The Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been giving greater attention to the northeastern states and claimed that Mizoram was receiving particular importance."

State BJP president K. Beichhua addressed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He confirmed that officials removed over 30,000 names, roughly 3.89 per cent of the total, from the voting lists. These deletions included people who moved away, the deceased, and those holding multiple registrations. Beichhua dismissed claims that the party targeted Congress voters. He stated the BJP also lost supporters during the purge. He defended the move as a standard process to ensure legitimate voting and hit out at the Congress for making false allegations.
