Aizawl: Mizoram needs real results, not slogans. BJP state president K Beichhua took aim at decades of government failure during a party session on November 2. He argued that every administration since Mizoram became a Union Territory ignored the core needs of the people.
Beichhua slammed a long list of failed state programs. He cited the Congress-led New Economic Development Policy and New Land Use Policy as major misses. The Mizoram National Front’s Socio-Economic Development Policy and the current Zoram People’s Movement’s Hand Holding Policy also failed to make the state self-sufficient. These initiatives rely on empty election manifestos instead of fixing the broken system.
The BJP leader laid out a plan for growth. He wants to boost local food production and secure reliable electricity and drinking water. His platform demands better roads, accessible public services, and stronger medical facilities. Residents should not have to leave Mizoram to get treated for illnesses.
Beichhua remains confident the party can fix the state. He addressed ongoing rumors about the party’s stance on religion. He stated, "No BJP leader or member had converted from Christianity to Hinduism." He urged members of the Congress and local churches to examine the party's platform and join forces to develop Mizoram.
