KCP Claims Bombing of Forest Officer Home in Imphal

Imphal: The Kangleipak Communist Party took credit for a bombing at the home of Noney District Forest Range Officer Oinam Pamheiba. The blast hit the house at Kongba Kshetri Leikai along Ucheckon Road, near Sunlight Club, in Imphal East at 2 am. It left the property damaged. A special unit known as Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi carried out the strike.

A. Luwangba, the media coordinator for the outfit, released a statement regarding the attack. He claimed the unit targeted the officer for his refusal to pay a tax demanded by the group. The KCP alleges Pamheiba has ignored its extortion demands since 2025. The outfit blamed the explosion on his stubbornness and his strong opposition to their collection efforts.

The group justifies these payments as part of the people's revolution. They claim the money supports their ongoing activities. Beyond the attack on Pamheiba, the organization issued a direct threat to another forest officer, Takhelambam Tiken. The group stated that "both officers should stop what it described as actions against the people's revolution" and warned of future consequences. Both men remain under active surveillance by the group.
