Imphal: Security forces captured an active militant in Imphal East on October 9. A joint team from the Criminal Detection Unit and local security personnel apprehended Pukhrambam Jackson Singh, 26, during a counter-insurgency sweep. The suspect holds the rank of Private in the KCP (MFL) militant group. He was taken into custody at Ngariyan Chingkhong near Andro police station following specific intelligence reports.

Singh led teams to the foothills of Nongmaijing Ching near Gournagar. Soldiers found a concealed weapons stash hidden in the dirt. The haul included one M16 rifle with two magazines, one 40 mm launcher gun, and one .32-calibre pistol with a magazine. They also pulled one Chinese-made hand grenade from the site.

The recovery did not stop there. Officials confirmed they seized 495 rounds of 5.56 mm live ammunition. Two Baofeng wireless sets and their chargers were also recovered from the hiding spot. Investigators are currently working to see who else helped hide the weapons. Official sources stated, "Further investigation is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the arms cache and determine whether others were involved."
