Guwahati: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council tabled a 1,678.55 crore budget on Monday. The financial plan covers the 2026-27 fiscal year. Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang introduced the spending package in Diphu during a session led by Speaker Raju Tisso. It targets infrastructure, education, sports, and cultural projects across Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong.

Total funding stands at 1,678 crore, 55 lakh, and 11 thousand under the State Own Priority Development scheme. The floor saw total unity. No opposition members challenged the proposal. The session lasts two days and ends August 4.

Ronghang confirmed that the council kept all funding levels intact. He spoke with reporters after the proceedings. He noted, "No cuts had been made to the Budget." The council now seeks more cash from the Assam government to launch additional regional projects.
