GPRN/NNC Warns Francis Kikon Over Identity Theft

Kohima: S.S. Pongkhu Naga, leader of the GPRN/NNC (AB), issued a sharp warning to Francis Kikon on August 14. Kikon must stop using the organization's name. Kikon has no authority to represent the group. His formal removal occurred on July 1, 2025.

The leadership held an emergency meeting on August 14. Participants included collective leaders, the Tatar Hoho, the Naga Army Wing, and all regional presidents. They gathered to condemn Kikon for continuing to claim ties to the organization. The Ministry of Information and Publicity stated, "The GPRN/NNC (AB) is a people's government and not an individual government."

Officials ousted Kikon, the former Acting General Secretary, for misconduct and poor financial management. They also cited his leadership failures. The group remains active in peace efforts. It has joined more than 17 meetings with the Forum for Naga Reconciliation and various Naga National Political Groups.

Leadership slammed a July 5, 2025, deal involving Kikon. That memorandum of understanding involved NSCN/GPRN (U) President M.B. Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh. The GPRN/NNC (AB) claims this agreement holds no weight. Kikon had no mandate to sign anything on their behalf. Any further misuse of their identity will trigger consequences under the Yehzabo. Kikon faces full responsibility for his actions. The organization also pledged its support to N.K. Kitovi Zhomomi, the convenor of the NNPGs Working Committee, until a political solution is reached.
