Naga Factions Sign Unity Agreement in Kohima

Kohima: Two major Naga factions inked a memorandum of understanding on August 5 to push for political reconciliation and regional unity. The Government of the People's Republic of Nagaland/NSCN Unification and the GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) finalized the deal in Kohima.

President Nokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh represented the NSCN Unification. Francis Kikon signed on behalf of the GPRN/NNC (Apex Body). The groups intend to align their efforts regarding the political, social, and economic growth of Nagas.

They want peace. The factions committed to fostering stability and addressing public grievances stemming from any unprecedented situation. They also pledged to pursue a formal political solution with the Government of India.

The organizations stated they "stand firm and united" on their shared objectives. By working in tandem, they hope to secure a better environment for future generations. The pact prioritizes solidarity for the wellbeing of all Nagas.
