Kohima: Doordarshan Kendra Kohima officially opened its new Studio-B on October 2. Additional Director General Technical Ved Prakash cut the ribbon. Senior officials from Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan stood by for the event. This facility marks a major upgrade for the station.

Satyajeet Dash, the Zonal Head for the Northeast, and Abhishek Agarwal, the Additional Director General for P&D, attended the inauguration. Neizekhotuo Yhome, a retired Assistant Director of Engineering, detailed the high-tech gear installed in the building. He thanked the staff for pushing the project over the finish line. Dash noted the second studio was a long time coming for the regional hub.

Agarwal promised further investment in the next financial year. Plans include installing studio news, a dedicated chain, and visual mixing tools. "Efforts would be made to establish full-fledged technical infrastructure for Studio-B, including Studio News, Studio Chain and visual mixing facilities, in the next financial year," Agarwal said. He urged local teams to hunt for stories across Nagaland.

Prakash praised the gear, calling it international grade. He expects the staff to use the technology to broadcast the state's heritage to the world. The station now has the power for high-quality production and seamless streaming.
