Kohima: The Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru drew a crowd of over 2,000 people to the Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) Auditorium on October 2. The 57th Freshers’ Meet cum Nagas’ Night focused on the theme A Legacy to Carry, a Future to Create. It welcomed fresh students and professionals into the city's Naga community. They danced. They sang.
NSUB president Sheyini spoke on the group's 57-year history. She asked the younger generation to think about their impact on the future. Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho joined as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Loung Nathan K K of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) served as guest speaker. Both men pushed for service and leadership.
"She urged young Nagas to consider what they would leave behind for future generations and to use the opportunities available to them to give back to the community," the union stated. The event featured performances by Nagaland artist KL Pamei.
Shisalong Jamir and Khoziia Kashipri took home the titles of Mr and Ms Fresher NSUB 2026. Kashipri also earned the Ms Popularity title, while Ganguanglung Kamei won Mr Popularity. Local businesses backed the gala. Title sponsors included Glamsjo Salon Academy, Sakra World Hospital, Roots and Ferns, Harvest Kitchen, Hornbill Kitchen, and Longshim by Indigenous Basket. Associate sponsors were Chumthang Kitchen, Maven Kitchen, Naga Choka, and Melita Luxury Skincare.
