Kohima: The Angami Students’ Union Bengaluru reached a milestone. The group celebrated its Silver Jubilee and Freshers’ Day on August 8, 2026. The event took place at Charles Ranson Hall in United Theological College, Benson Town. The organization focused on the theme, "Krütsazho Nu Sourüle, Kezepuo Chü Siekelie- Rooted in Tradition; Rising in Unity."
Eno. Kethosituo Sekhose, director of Youth Resources and Sports for the Government of Nagaland, attended as the chief guest. Sekhose, a founding member of the union, spoke to the crowd and presented the commemorative souvenir. Several organizations sent delegations to show their support. Attendees included the Angami Students’ Union, Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru, Angami Krotho Delhi, and the Angami Students’ Union Delhi. Northern, Western, and Southern Angami Students’ Unions also traveled from Nagaland to participate.
The program introduced new students to the union through prayer and formal welcomes. A cultural segment filled the hall with folk songs and traditional dances. The Eastern Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru performed a folk dance, while Keneisenuo Sorhie and Moko Koza provided musical entertainment. The day wrapped up with the Mr. and Miss Fresher contest.
The Jubilee Core Committee, ASUB executives, and Angami Krotho Bengaluru managed the logistics. SAKRA Hospital, Zingrong Restaurant, and Longshim Restaurant provided financial backing alongside various co-sponsors. The celebration solidified a quarter-century of community building.
