Students Gather for 12th State-Level Spelling Competition

Imphal: The 12th State-Level Spelling Competition kicked off today with the singing of the Manipur state anthem, Sana Leibak Manipur. The Students’ Union Kangleipak organizes the event to find talent. About 3,000 students signed up this year.

Ranjit Khuman, the sub-committee convenor, oversees the operations. He said the competition aims to "identify and provide a platform for students to showcase their hidden talents." Organizers split the students into two groups. Category A covers classes V through VII. Category B includes classes VIII through X.

The event runs across three locations. Manipur University hosts the Imphal center. Slopeland Public School handles the Thoubal and Kakching centers. Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School serves as the Bishnupur center. The final round takes place on October 17.
