Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association Marks Seven Years in Kohima

Kohima: The Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association gathered at Tsiesema Basa on October 2 to mark its seventh Foundation Day. The group manages 420 registered riders and 17 executive members. They keep Kohima moving.

Kohima Municipal Council Ward 18 Councillor Medoviu Suohu attended as the special guest. He pushed for more local economic opportunities. Suohu urged the government and the association to prioritize riders who drive under someone else's permits. This shift could help more youths find steady work.

NTWTA President Keneisalie Belho addressed the crowd during his welcome speech. He asked his team to focus on unity and discipline. "The association's members work hard to earn a livelihood while serving the transportation needs of the public," Belho said. He demanded that all riders follow traffic laws and treat every passenger with respect.

The event honored Choyoli with the Best Rider Award. The family of the late Kekhriesilie V Rio sponsors this prize annually to recognize top-tier conduct. Rio was a dedicated member who joined the association in 2019 and served for four years before he died in 2022 at age 33. The program also included a performance by Moarenla Aier and an invocation by James Kamai. Grace Kath closed the session with a vote of thanks.
