Kohima: Village leaders and district officials gathered at Lotha Hoho Ki in Dimapur on August 13 to kick off the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission. The meeting brought together representatives from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland. Everyone must pitch in. Project Director Limameren Yaden told the crowd that transforming India requires active grassroots participation.
The new VB-G RAM G Act replaces MGNREGA to boost rural jobs and fix local economies. It focuses on water security, core infrastructure, and climate mitigation. Temsusoba Jamir from DRDA Dimapur explained how the system uses biometric authentication, e-KYC, and AI-based monitoring to stop waste. The rules even allow states to pause work for 60 days during peak harvest times.
Technical leads Seyiekhrielie Rio and Jacob Zeliang pushed for better management of 16th Finance Commission grants. They want stronger sanitation and better upkeep of community assets. The program relies on strict Aadhaar verification. Officials reminded village councils that "proper utilisation of 16th Finance Commission grants" is the key to building real infrastructure. The event ended with a call for unified action from all stakeholders to make the mission a success.
