Kohima: Thirty-six candidates secured a spot for the next stage of recruitment following the DB Job Fair on August 1. The event occupied the Salesian College of Higher Education in Kuda Village, Half Nagarjan. Organizers designed the fair to connect local workers with employers across India and international markets.
Roughly 70 job seekers traveled from Nagaland and nearby states to attend. Attendees ranged from fresh graduates to skilled professionals looking for a change. They met with recruiters from Reliance Jio, Talent Acquaintance Employment Providers, Flywayy Dimapur, SBI Life Insurance, Ohaa International School, and Tolins Tyres Pvt Ltd. Some firms conducted virtual interviews while others met face-to-face.
Roles spanned telecommunications, marketing, sales, customer service, insurance, education, manufacturing, and technical support. The session began with an orientation on interview etiquette and employer expectations. Participants dropped off resumes and engaged directly with HR representatives.
The event was a team effort between the AIDA-Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Salesian College, District Employment Exchange, and National Career Service centers for SC/ST and the differently abled. Sebi Chacko, Regional Coordinator of AIDA-DB JPN, thanked the partners for their work. He noted that the fair reflected the group's, "continued commitment to promoting youth employability, strengthening industry partnerships and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for young people in Northeast India."
