BJP Targets 2-Lakh Vote Lead in Nagaon Bypoll

Guwahati: The BJP is ramping up its ground game for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election. Party MLA Jitu Goswami officially opened the main election office at Juria in Rupohihat to kick off the push. The Barhampur legislator expects a landslide. He claims the party will secure victory by a margin of 2 lakh votes.

The electoral ground is shifting. Goswami argues the upcoming contest will look nothing like the 2024 Lok Sabha results. He pointed to a growing base of support among minority voters in the area. "The minority people have understood this time," Goswami said.

Nagaon holds a substantial minority population. Both the BJP and Congress are scrambling to lock in their voters for the looming fight. This office opening signals the start of an aggressive organizational drive as the party moves to tighten its grip on the constituency.
