Guwahati: Kokrajhar MP Joyanta Basumatary led a DISHA committee meeting on September 15 at the DRDA Conference Hall in Mushalpur. Officials gathered to audit the progress of central and state development programs. The review focused on physical and financial results across Baksa district.
Key local leaders joined the session. MLA Thaneswar Basumatary, EM Augustus Tigga, MCLA Ridip Kumar Deka, and District In-charge Manas Das attended alongside department heads and circle officers. They examined performance across sectors like health, power, agriculture, and public works.
The group audited a massive list of government initiatives. This included the Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PMGSY, and PM Surya Ghar Yojana. They also reviewed the Samagra Shiksha, PM-KISAN, and Asom Mala programs. Officials scrutinized infrastructure projects and food security efforts like the Antyodaya Anna Yojana.
Basumatary highlighted specific priority gaps during the review. He pushed for better coordination between departments. He also demanded wider public outreach to help actual beneficiaries. The MP confirmed that grievances raised at the meeting will move through a formal follow-up system.
BTC Secretary Manas Das concluded the session with a pledge for better performance. He noted, "The identified gaps and challenges would be addressed through continued monitoring, improved coordination among departments and effective implementation of development programmes aimed at the overall socio-economic development of Baksa district."
