Guwahati: Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah marked the state government's first 100 days in office with a breakdown of 100 separate achievements. He tied the results to the administration's goal of building a Viksit Assam under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. These milestones span education, healthcare, infrastructure, and technology.
Social schemes lead the report. The state relaunched Orunodoi 3.0 for over 37 lakh women. Meanwhile, the Nijut Moina initiative supports 5.16 lakh girls and Nijut Babu helps 99,000 boys. Agriculture saw significant shifts, as the state officially recognized small tea growers as farmers. Officials disbursed 51.373 crore in PM-KISAN assistance and procured 6.88 lakh metric tonnes of paddy for the 2025-26 season.
Infrastructure projects changed the map. Workers finished 552 km of roads and 47 bridges. The state also completed three National Highway projects and opened the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Flyover in Guwahati. In the energy sector, 61 lakh smart meters now track usage, and Assam hit 7th place nationally for the PM Surya Ghar program with 1.70 lakh rooftop solar installations.
Health metrics show progress. Assam dropped its Maternal Mortality Ratio to 84. Clinics provided 85,000 free haemodialysis sessions and administered HPV vaccinations to 2.94 lakh girls. Environmentally, the state added 2,362 hectares of reserved forest and planted one crore saplings for the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. The government also moved 31,700 flood-affected citizens to safety during recent disasters.
Tech investment remains a focus. Assam launched the state's first GPU-based sovereign AI infrastructure and the Assam Source Trace AI platform. Over 3.10 lakh crore in Advantage Assam projects have reached advanced implementation. Authorities also ramped up drug interdiction efforts, opening a dedicated narcotics incinerator to destroy seized contraband worth hundreds of crores. Baruah emphasized that the work goes beyond statistics. He stated, "The first 100 days were not merely about numbers, but about the impact of government initiatives on mothers, farmers, students, patients, flood-affected families and young entrepreneurs across Assam."
