Imphal: Manipur security forces wrapped up three days of raids across Imphal East, Imphal West, and Bishnupur. They netted three men for drug running, militant links, and extortion. Troops seized a haul of narcotics and a vehicle.

Intelligence agents guided a joint team of state and central personnel to intercept a drug shipment in Imphal East. They arrested 28-year-old Md. Eliyas Khan of Hatta Central Masjid Road. Officers found 10 soap cases holding 130 grams of suspected Heroin No. 4. Police reports indicate the stash was headed for Kohima, Nagaland.

A second team, the Imphal West commandos, struck in the Keishampat Leimajam Leikai area. They cuffed 29-year-old Khwairakpam Malemchaoba Meitei. Police identify him as an active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party-People's War Group. He hails from Thanga Oinam Leikai in Bishnupur.

The final operation targeted an extortion ring near Nambol Chingmang Crossing. Security forces picked up 22-year-old Salam Tomba Singh, also known as Itomba, Tondonba, or Atomba. He belongs to Khabam Bamdiar Mayai Leikai. Authorities claim he works for the banned United National Liberation Front-Koirang. They seized his red Honda Activa, tagged MN01AB 8812. Police said the "vehicle was allegedly used during extortion activities."

Legal cases are open against all three men. Detectives are still digging into the networks.
