Four militants arrested in Manipur police sweep

Imphal: Security forces picked up four militants from three outlawed organizations in a series of raids across Manipur. Police confirmed the arrests in Imphal West, Imphal East, and Tengnoupal districts on August 1.

Officers nabbed Khunthoklemba Oinam, a 30-year-old member of the Kangleipak Communist Party, in Imphal West on Friday. He faces accusations linked to a July 28 hand grenade attack at a residence in Yumnam Leikai. Authorities said, "Further investigation is underway."

Another team tracked down Ningthoujam Nanao Meitei, 41, in Imphal East on the same day. Meitei belongs to the PREPAK (PRO) faction. Security units also caught two members of the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak near the India-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district on Thursday.
