Kohima: Phek District Planning and Development Board members met on August 10 to evaluate road infrastructure and emergency preparations. Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori chaired the session. Officials scrutinized travel routes during this wet monsoon season. They also prepped for Independence Day on August 15. Engineers from the Public Works Department and National Highways confirmed that traffic flows remain steady across the district.
Maintenance crews are working overtime. Er Vikerhe Venyo of the Phek Division, Er Daniel of the Pfutsero Division, and Er Yimkumwati Pongon of the Pfutsero-Chozuba NH-29 wing provided detailed progress reports. This proposal now heads to higher authorities for final sign-off. Members also organized the Local Area Development Programme schemes for the 2026-27 financial year.
