Guwahati: Ashok Singhal cut the ribbon on the new Dhubri-Gauripur Development Authority office building on Thursday. The Assam Cabinet Minister and Guardian Minister of Dhubri district led the ceremony. Cabinet Minister Ashwini Rai Sarkar joined him alongside local representatives and community members. The event was part of a broader tour to check on administrative progress.

Singhal took a hard line on land use. He promised to clear illegal encroachments from drainage systems and water channels. He plans to stop artificial flooding through these evictions. "Encroachments on drainage and water-discharge areas would be removed following due procedures to prevent artificial flooding in the district in the future," the minister stated.

The government is watching. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expects better performance. Singhal noted that the state currently prioritizes law and order, transparent operations, and quick delivery of services. He spent the rest of his visit reviewing various development projects across Dhubri district.
