Guwahati: Assam plans to install hanging gardens across Guwahati flyovers. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the project on Thursday, July 16, during a Facebook Live session. The initiative aims to upgrade the city aesthetic while boosting green public spaces. It serves as a key part of the government plan to build a sustainable urban environment.

Sarma also addressed the ongoing monsoon season. He claimed the state has avoided severe flooding so far this year. Only pockets of Lakhimpur and Dhemaji currently face issues. The government is sending aid to those specific areas. He stated, "The government stands firmly with the affected people and is ensuring that all required assistance reaches them."

Officials continue to track the weather. Work on urban infrastructure projects moves forward. The state maintains full support for all residents currently in the flood zones.
