Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pushed forward on multiple fronts this week. He plans to install hanging gardens on Guwahati flyovers to green the city. The state remains largely clear of severe monsoon floods. Only residents in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji face ongoing struggles. Sarma promised full support. "The government stands firmly with the affected people and is ensuring that all required assistance reaches them," he said.

Assam Police secured a technological upgrade. The force is now an Offline Verification Seeking Entity under UIDAI. It is the first in the Northeast to gain this status. Officers can now scan Aadhaar QR codes without internet access. This works in border regions and riverine areas. It stops criminals from using fake documents. Passport, arms license, and tenant verifications will now move faster.

Dairy farming is also seeing a massive spike. A five-rupee subsidy per litre changed the game. Milk procurement jumped by 54.65 percent. Cooperative society membership climbed by 36.77 percent. Sarma noted these gains on social media. The policy aims to boost farmer income and strengthen the state dairy chain.
