Arunachal Students Union Threatens Statewide Protests Over NEET Crisis

Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union is backing protesters at Jantar Mantar. They want answers on alleged NEET exam irregularities. A July 20 march dubbed Chalo Sansad ended in violence. Police used batons on students. Several protesters suffered injuries during the skirmish.

AAPSU president Meje Taku condemned the police response. He called for accountability instead of force. "A student demanding a fair examination system is not an enemy of the state," Taku said. He warned that the government is failing the youth by ignoring their demands for transparency.

The union highlighted the ongoing hunger strike by Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk is currently receiving care at Medanta Hospital. The Cockroach Janta Party also leads sustained demonstrations. Their demands include a parliamentary debate on the alleged paper leak and legal protection for activists. They also seek accountability from government ministers.

Taku urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open talks immediately. He noted that the state of Arunachal Pradesh knows the cost of ignored youth voices. The union sent a formal letter to the Prime Minister. They warned that inaction could spark a broader movement. AAPSU promised statewide protests if the Centre stays silent. The union remains firm: students deserve answers, not batons.
