Itanagar: Student leaders kicked off a two-day march to the remote village of Taksing on August 13. The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union is pushing for better border security and infrastructure in the Upper Subansiri district. AAPSU president Meje Taku started the delegation from the NEFA Club building headquarters. General secretary Mato Bui is leading the group on the Taksing Chalo, Bharat Bachao campaign.
The march ends August 15. They plan to hoist the national flag there on Independence Day. Taku says the state remains an essential part of the country. "Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will forever remain an integral and unalienable part of India," he stated. He added that the state will keep backing the armed forces and local border residents.
The team is meeting with village leaders and youth groups. They want to hear about the daily struggles in these isolated frontier areas. The union intends to turn these findings into a formal report. They will submit this document to both state and central officials. They want faster development projects and tighter security. Taku emphasized the local role in defense. "Our borders are not just lines on a map; they are our collective responsibility," he noted. The union is now asking federal units and local groups in Upper Subansiri to join the effort.
