Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union is putting the state's hiring board on notice. They want the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board to enforce new rules for Group A, B, and C job recruitment immediately. These standards stem from an August 26, 2026, notification by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Training.
Candidates must now hold a valid Permanent Resident Certificate and an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe Certificate to qualify. The new policy also mandates proficiency in an indigenous tribal language. The union insists the board include these requirements, along with a post-joining language test, in all pending and future recruitment advertisements.
Union president Meje Taku and general secretary Mato Bui signed the demand letter. The group plans to audit every advertisement for full compliance. They are ready to act. "We will not compromise on these hard-won protections," the union stated. Any delay or dilution of these standards will trigger immediate resistance and intensified agitation from the student community.
