Arunachal Student Union Backs NEET Protests and Threatens State-Wide Action

Itanagar: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) is throwing its weight behind demonstrators gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The group demands the Centre address widespread anger over alleged NEET examination irregularities. Tensions flared during the July 20 Chalo Sansad march when police used lathis and tear gas against the crowd.

Multiple protesters sustained injuries during the crackdown. AAPSU president Meje Taku slammed the state's response. He argues that officials must choose engagement over force. AAPSU remains critical of the government's heavy-handed tactics. "A student demanding a fair examination system is not an enemy of the state," Taku stated.

The union is highlighting the ongoing hunger strike led by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk is currently receiving care at Medanta Hospital. His demands include full accountability for the alleged NEET paper leak and a formal promise to raise the issue in Parliament. He also wants a guarantee that no protester will face retaliatory legal action.

AAPSU officials have sent a formal letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are pushing for immediate, face-to-face talks with both the students and Wangchuk. The group warns that the Cockroach Janta Party's push for ministerial accountability requires a direct response. Silence from the Centre is no longer acceptable.

The union suggests that the movement could expand rapidly if the government stays idle. AAPSU confirmed it will launch state-wide protests across Arunachal Pradesh if the Centre continues to ignore these concerns. They maintain that the futures of lakhs of students are at risk. The group insists the government must act. "Students deserve answers, not batons," the union declared.
