Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu says border friction with China will not kill the state tourism industry. He spoke on October 29 at the 14th International Tourism Mart for the Northeast region. The Chief Minister dismissed concerns about regional stability.
China refuses to accept the McMahon Line. This dispute sparks regular incidents along the long frontier. Khandu remains confident in the Indian Army. He insists the military keeps the border secure. Soldiers from both nations regularly conduct patrols in the disputed territory. These movements create occasional friction rather than formal conflict.
Khandu downplayed the severity of these territorial events during his media briefing. "Sometimes these issues happen. From here also soldiers travel that side, and from their side also patrolling happens. This is transgression, not intrusion, and this is not a new thing," he said. The Chief Minister emphasized that the current situation is normal for the region.
