Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh is shipping its first trial consignment of kiwi to Dubai. The fruit arrived at the LuLu Hypermarket in Al Qusais to test international demand. Officials flagged the shipment off from Itanagar on October 26, 2026.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the collaboration between the Department of Trade and Commerce, the Department of Horticulture, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, and the Kiwi Growers Cooperative Society. These agencies worked together to push the state’s produce onto the global stage.

Khandu noted the long-term impact for rural workers. He stated, "This is more than an export milestone, it is a victory for our farmers." By linking local production to international buyers, the government hopes to lift agricultural returns and stabilize rural livelihoods. This initial trial shipment serves as a test run to strengthen export routes and secure a permanent place for Arunachal Pradesh kiwi in foreign grocery aisles.
