Itanagar: Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Raj Bhushan Choudhary landed in Anini on Tuesday to rattle department heads about stalled infrastructure projects. He led a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena and Superintendent of Police James K. Lego to get the border region moving. Additional Deputy Commissioners and local circle officers sat in to hear the breakdown.
The minister demanded faster action on road building, healthcare systems, and agriculture. He specifically pushed for progress on the Roing-Anini Greenfield Bypass. Telecom upgrades and 4G expansion remain top priorities. He told the officials, "The Centre's commitment to improving infrastructure and living standards in remote border areas" remains a core part of the Viksit Bharat 2047 plan.
The district faces real problems. Hospitals lack medical specialists. Emergency services are thin. Residents need reliable drinking water and better telecommunications. Choudhary ordered departments to stop working in silos and start coordinating to fix these gaps. He also wants more renewable energy projects started in the valley.
Agriculture and tourism offer a path forward for local youth. Choudhary wants the valley to push eco-tourism, hospitality, and adventure travel. Farmers should look at high-value crops, but they need better cold storage and market access to make it pay. He warned that all development must remain sustainable to keep the Dibang Valley environment intact.
