Itanagar: NITI Aayog member Joram Aniya met with Arunachal Pradesh Governor K T Parnaik at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar on Friday. They hammered out plans to bolster infrastructure, digital connectivity, and power grids across the frontier state. The two also addressed critical improvements needed for healthcare and education systems while prioritizing development projects situated along the international border.
Parnaik demanded a development model tailored to the specific geography and tribal heritage of the region. He pushed for progress that does not sacrifice environmental health or cultural identity. The Governor stated, "Modern infrastructure should be developed while protecting the state's environment and cultural identity."
The discussion included long-term planning to hit the goals of Viksit Arunachal and Viksit Bharat@2047. Parnaik requested that NITI Aayog provide data-driven policy inputs and coordinate between ministries to help mobilize resources. Better roads and digital networks remain the primary engines for boosting trade, tourism, and national security.
Beyond basic construction, Parnaik spotlighted the state's economic potential. He noted natural advantages in hydropower, horticulture, and organic farming. He also emphasized the promise of the green economy, bamboo production, and medicinal plants. The Governor concluded by calling for more focus on youth empowerment, skill training, and women-led growth to secure the state's future.
