Itanagar: Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, is set to host the 14th International Tourism Mart from October 29 to 31. This marks the town’s first time hosting since 2013. Organizers expect more than 200 domestic and international delegates to attend. The event brings together stakeholders to explore business opportunities and promote the North East. It follows the 2025 gathering held in Gangtok, Sikkim.

The three-day event involves the Union Ministry of Tourism, the Arunachal Pradesh government, and other North Eastern states. Attendees include 43 international buyers from 22 countries. Local tour operators and service providers from all eight North Eastern states will join them. The opening program kicks off on October 29 with Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi, and Chief Minister Pema Khandu. Guests will see the North East Bazaar and cultural performances.

Business-to-business sessions on October 30 bridge the gap between local operators and global buyers. Experts will discuss ways to grow the region's live event and concert economy. The Ministry of Home Affairs will lead a separate session on easing tourist access to restricted and protected zones. Royal Enfield will also host a session titled "Beyond Destinations: Creating Immersive Journeys in North East India" to highlight experience-based tourism.

The North East Bazaar features traditional textiles and handicrafts. Regional food will also be served. Attendees can tour Tawang Monastery, Jaswant Garh War Memorial, and Jang Waterfall. Other stops include the Tawang War Memorial, Urgelling Gompa, Buddha Park, Pankang Teng Tso Lake, and Shernup Village. The event concludes with a ministerial meeting on October 30, while international delegates begin familiarization tours from Guwahati on November 1.
