Woman Attacked and Stripped at Guwahati Nightclub

Guwahati: A group of people stripped and assaulted a young woman at The Locals nightclub in the Khanapara area of Guwahati late Thursday. The victim was dragged across the floor as attackers beat her. A club bouncer allegedly joined the assault by kicking the woman during the violence.

Witnesses report the attack started on the fourth floor. The victim was later brought down to the lower levels while the assault continued. The identity of the woman remains unknown. Officials have yet to disclose a motive for the attack.

Media arrived at the scene to investigate the report. Club staff immediately shut the gates and killed the lights. Nobody emerged to explain the violence. According to local reports, "The reason behind the assault is not yet known." Authorities have not yet confirmed if they have filed charges against the club or the individuals involved.

Guwahati police moved on the case Saturday, October 3. Officers arrested two men, including the nightclub manager and an event manager, in connection with the attack. The arrests followed a suo motu case opened by the department.
