Guwahati: Guwahati Police detained Rupam Saikia today. Investigators brought him in for questioning regarding the death of 22-year-old student Nimisha Thakuria. Police claim Saikia was drinking with Nimisha and a man named Ashiq on the night she died.
Officers are pressing Saikia to reconstruct the timeline. They want to know exactly what happened inside the homestay. The investigation is active. Authorities are looking into everyone present that night.
Mintu Ali, who works at the site of the incident, faces handcuffs. Police arrested him for trying to cover up evidence. The motive remains under the microscope. "The investigation is underway," police sources stated, as they continue to sift through the facts surrounding the death.
