Guwahati: Guwahati police grabbed two Bangladeshi women at the city's railway station on Friday, September 25. The suspects lacked valid travel documents. Officers pulled the pair off the Saraighat Express before it could leave the station.
DCP (Border) Kulendra Nath Deka confirmed the arrest. He told reporters, "Two fake Aadhaar cards containing addresses in West Bengal were seized from them." The cards listed local addresses in an attempt to hide their true origins.
Police mapped out their path into the country. They started in Dhaka, moved to Sylhet, and eventually crossed the border into Meghalaya. The women then took a road trip to Guwahati. Detectives are still digging into the case to find out who helped them cross.
