Kohima: Urban Company and YouthNet Nagaland teamed up for a career workshop at Orchid Cafe in Old Town, Zunheboto, on August 24. Eleven women showed up to learn about professional jobs in the beauty and wellness sector. Category Manager Sentinaro Jamir and Business Development Associate Amen Jamir led the session to help locals build independent careers.
The initiative scouts women aged 18 to 40. No prior experience is required to apply. Successful candidates head to Bengaluru for two months of training. Urban Company covers airfare and housing during this stint. The program focuses on beauty and spa skills while providing health insurance and workplace safety guarantees.
Sentinaro Jamir explained the company is running these sessions across every district to foster local trust. She stated, "Similar types of awareness and workshop activity have been conducted in all the districts to build trust in people's minds and this activity will be a continuous programme for the company."
Candidates must pass a screening and orientation process first. Once the two-month course finishes, the company connects graduates with steady work. The goal is simple. It creates a path toward reliable income for women across the Northeast.
