Tura Driver Found Dead in West Garo Hills Murder Probe

Shillong: Police recovered the body of Samuel R. Marak in Joshipara village on Sunday. Marak had been missing since September 28. District police suspect foul play. They believe he was killed before his body was dumped. Sources claim he was brutally killed on the day he disappeared. He was last seen at the Akonggre pickup stand around 1 pm. His family filed a missing person report on September 30. Marak’s vehicle and two mobile phones are still missing. Officers have registered a murder case and launched a search.

Separately, police found a decomposed body in the Joshipara Forest near the Dalu police station. Another emergency occurred nearby. A 14-year-old girl from Tapagre village went missing on October 2 after attending a legal awareness programme at Jengjal. Searchers found her unconscious and injured on a roadside the next day. She now receives care at the Maternity and Child Hospital in Tura. Tura Women Police officials stated they have "registered a cognisable case regarding the incident." Investigations continue for all three files.
