Guwahati: Police in Bongaigaon, Assam, are investigating the death of 16-year-old Asif Ahmed after his body turned up at his home in Ambari-Tilapara. Locals discovered the remains on the property. They suspect he had been dead for two or three days before the discovery.
The boy lived in Abhayapuri and had struggled with vision problems since he was in the second grade. Neighbors voiced strong concerns about the nature of his passing. They claim he was murdered.
Authorities arrived on the scene shortly after the recovery of the body. Officers detained six individuals to face questioning regarding the death. Investigators have not confirmed the official cause of death. Officials state, "The circumstances leading to the teenager’s death and the exact cause of death are yet to be ascertained." The probe continues as police look for answers.
