Guwahati: Authorities recovered the body of Khargeswar Rabha on October 22. He served as a Deputy Superintendent of Police with the Chief Minister's Vigilance Cell in Assam. Hotel staff found him inside Room No. 102 of Hotel Jahnavi Regency in Bongaigaon. The body was in a partially decomposed state when police arrived.
Investigators remain silent on the cause of death. They have not explained the circumstances leading to the discovery. Officials stated, "Further details regarding the incident, including the cause of death and the circumstances leading to the recovery of the body, are awaited." A probe into the tragedy is underway.
