Scooter Rider Killed in Collision with Oil Tanker in Assam

Guwahati: Sudipta Ghosh died Tuesday after his scooter collided with an oil tanker in Assam's Nagaon district. The wreck occurred October 8 near Badal Gaon under the jurisdiction of the Nonoi Police Outpost. Both vehicles were moving toward Nagaon when they smashed into each other.

The impact threw Ghosh beneath the moving truck. Locals and police pulled him from the wreckage in critical condition. Medics at Nagaon Medical College and Hospital worked to save him, but he died during treatment.

Ghosh lived in Chakitup but hailed from Langting in Dima Hasao. He worked as an electrician for the Gram Vikash Parishad. Authorities identified his scooter as AS 02 AN 1211 and the tanker as AS 01 AF 2065. Police have seized both vehicles. An official statement confirmed, "Police have seized both vehicles and initiated an investigation into the accident."
