Agartala: Tripura joins the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign starting August 9. The drive runs through August 17 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. State officials confirmed the event will celebrate the 150-year anniversary of Vande Mataram.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha urged residents to participate in a video address. He emphasized the symbolic importance of the effort. "The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is a matter of pride for all of us. It symbolises our patriotic values, national consciousness and our respect for the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country," Saha said.

Kiran Gitte, secretary to the Chief Minister, outlined the state schedule. He noted that the fifth edition of the campaign includes Tiranga rallies, bike and cycle processions, exhibitions, concerts, and Rangoli displays. Events will occur across all districts, blocks, and panchayats. Volunteers and officials will also facilitate Tri-Colour lighting and decoration efforts.

The state-level rally starts at 4:30 PM on August 11. It departs from Ujjayanta Palace. Chief Minister Saha will lead the procession. The route concludes at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, where an exhibition and concert will follow. Gitte and Information and Cultural Affairs Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee confirmed the government has prepped for high demand. Self-help groups are producing additional flags for public sale. The state expects near-saturation of flag distribution based on procurement levels from previous years.

Saha appealed to municipal corporations, local bodies, and village committees to ensure total participation. The campaign aims to foster patriotism and remind citizens of their duty toward the Tricolour. Gitte requested that residents buy flags from local self-help group stalls located throughout the districts.
