Manipur Readies Nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Events

Imphal: Manipur is prepping for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The state-wide initiative runs from August 9 to 17. It follows the national plan from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Naorem Praveen Singh, Secretary of Art and Culture, addressed the press at the Civil Secretariat in Mantripukhri. He confirmed this year marks the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.

Events kick off with a Vande Mataram-themed Tiranga Concert at MSFDS Hall on August 12. This show partners with the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy. Education officials are planning exhibitions across schools and colleges to teach students about the national song and flag. Praveen Singh said, "The campaign will also commemorate the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram through a series of patriotic and cultural events encouraging every household to hoist the National Flag with pride."

The government has two lakh flags ready for residents. Officials will also set up selfie points in Imphal and other districts. The public should upload photos to the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal. Rallies for bikes and cycles will hit the streets in various districts and Gram Panchayats. Buildings will glow with tricolour lights.

August 14 marks Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. Administrations will hold awareness events on that date. Students can also join the National Online Quiz on the MyGov portal until September 15. The Directorate of Information and Public Relations will handle all event publicity.
