Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh launched the Har Ghar Tiranga bike rally Monday morning at Hapta Kangjeibung in Imphal East. Thousands of riders hit the streets in a massive show of national pride. The Manipur Police Department organized the event to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of India's independence.
Khemchand Singh pushed for national unity during his address. He wants citizens to back Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his goal to build a dominant global power. The Chief Minister expects this Tiranga Yatra will foster lasting peace and stability across the state. He told the crowd, "I hope the Tiranga Yatra will be a grand success and will help bring peace and stability to Manipur."
The route stretched across the region. Riders traveled along National Highway 102, stopping at the Khongjom War Memorial before crossing through Thoubal and Kakching districts. The journey finished at the 8th Battalion Manipur Rifles Campus in Leikun, Chandel District.
Several officials joined the rally. Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam rode alongside the Chief Minister. Other attendees included Art and Culture Minister Kh. Loken Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Ajit Gopchade, MLA Nishikant Sapam, Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, and DGP Mukesh Singh.
