Agartala: Tripura joins the national Har Ghar Tiranga campaign starting August 9. This initiative falls under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav drive Prime Minister Narendra Modi started in 2022. The state will celebrate the fifth edition of this event through August 17.

Kiran Gitte, secretary to the Chief Minister and ICA secretary, announced the plans at a press conference alongside ICA Director Bimbisar Bhattacharjee. Gitte noted that the events honor 150 years of Vande Mataram. Organizers have scheduled Tiranga rallies, concerts, exhibitions, and bike or cycle processions across all districts, blocks, and panchayats. Citizens will also participate in selfie events, Rangoli displays, and light decorations.

The state government expects high participation. Residents will hoist flags at homes and government offices. Gitte stated, "Due to adequate procurement of National flags over the last few years, saturation almost attained."

Local women are driving the supply chain. Members of self-help groups under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission are stitching the flags. These groups provide the flags for the public at specific stalls across the districts. Officials revised the payment rates for these women to boost local income and encourage craftsmanship.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will flag off the state-level rally at 4:30 PM on August 11. It starts at Ujjayanta Palace and moves through city streets to Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan. The final destination will host a concert and exhibition. Authorities are pushing for heavy involvement from students, youth, local clubs, and NGOs to ensure the program succeeds.
