Agartala: Agartala traffic police launched a special operation Saturday at Maharajganj Market to clear out trucks loading and unloading during peak hours. The market serves as the primary trade hub for the city. Hundreds of cars and heavy trucks flood the streets every single day. Residents complained that delivery vehicles consistently blocked main roads. This caused constant gridlock and angry commuters.

Officers monitored the area to force compliance with strict delivery windows. They warned traders that blocking traffic will not be tolerated moving forward. The department intends to repeat these enforcement actions across other crowded zones in the city. A traffic department spokesperson said, "This is a warning and a commitment. We will continue such drives to ensure smooth traffic movement in Maharajganj and other crowded areas."

Local commuters saw an immediate change in traffic flow following the enforcement. Some traders expressed support for the discipline but asked for better loading zones. The state considers this part of a larger plan to fix congestion and keep the city economy moving.
